Haute take but, trans women who forego transitioning until they have a steady job in tech or engineering should be viewed the same way as 19th century cis women who posed as men to pursue opportunities and fields that were otherwise barred to them. The only reason we treat one as an ugly marker of “abusing privilege and socialization” and the other as an empowering tale of sticking it to the system is transmisogyny, full stop.
